What Is Pregelatinized Starch?
Pregelatinized Starch (PGS) is modified starch in which the starch granules have been partially or fully gelatinized by cooking and then dried. This modification transforms native starch’s poor compressibility into a directly compressible pharmaceutical excipient with excellent binding and disintegration properties.
